Tbh I think this war support mechanic will hurt this game as it's not something that you need to worry about in other historical Paradox titles and it will just make war more annoying and tedious and not worth the effort, particularly in the mid-to-late stages of a campaign. It's a novel idea in theory but in practice it will be janky and convoluted and will Definitely turn away a lot of potential customers. How isn't it? Especially in comparison to other Paradox games? Apparently you won't even raise or control armies in this game but instead you'll just pump out recruits for different regions and desperately attempt to have positive war support/increase war support while the war will undoubtedly be causing hits to your war support. Afterwards nations decide who gets what, which is how it was done back then. How is this complex or convoluted in any way? Its literally just a race to get your opponent to 0 war support. I'd love to play a new Paradox game set during this time period but with each new dev diary that comes out for this game it looks more and more likely that I'll be skipping the 3rd Victoria game as well. What you're trying to do here looks janky and (again) convoluted. You basically have a good formula for simulating war in your other games, it's not perfect by any stretch but it works. You're making war overly complex and convoluted. Originally posted by Heraclius Caesar:I'm not feelin it at all. If they use hoi4 mechanic such as you suggest I'm afraid that the war will go on and on after Prussia conquer the whole France just because some piece of land in the Caribbean won't capitulate. What you're suggesting maybe the post-war resistant where people in the conquered states try to rise up against the occupier and people in the country that lost might gain some sort of buff such as revanchism, rise of pro-war radicals etc. I'm going to guess that this is to prevent the war from going on forever. And give the player the methods to continue or to get war suppport again. ![]() Show the effects of making the war last forever, like people are arming more revolts, or the ones that wanted the war start loosing confidence. If the game force you to capitulate, the player is going to get angry. in any case it should be like CK, that it makes everything worse and the happiness of your court/vassal and the people get even worse. A country that Capitulates cedes all War Goals that are targeting them and gives up on all unpressed War Goals they were still holding."īe aware a bout this, War support should not force you to capitulate.
